A sprain usually occurs when a sudden force is exerted upon a joint from a certain angle. The lateral ligament supporting the outer aspect of the ankle joiny may be partly (simple sprain); or completely ruptured (severe sprain). Measles – is a highly infectious disease caused by a virus. In 2004, there were 3025 measles cases in the Phils (Source: 2004 EPI Surveillance Annual Report). Measles kills more children than any other vaccine preventable disease.
Because the disease is so infectious, it tends to occur as epidemics, which may cause may deaths especially among malnourished children.
How is measles spread?
Measles is spread through contact with nose and throat secretions of infected people and in airborne droplets released when an infected person sneezes or coungs. (more…)
